Naah: Can i turn off my computer while downloading something on utorrent?
What if i’m downloading something on utorrent and it’s taking a very long time. It’s almost time to sleep and i have to turn off the computer or else i’ll get in trouble. Will the download still be there if i turn off the computer and get back on the next day or will it erase?
(Pause the download and close it)
Will that work?
If there is another way please explain in detail but easy to follow.

If you turn the computer off without doing anything to the software, it will re-open when you next turn it on and continue downloading the file.
If it doesn’t automatically re-open (which it should), just open it manually and it will continue to download.

Fix Problems Utorrent 
Pause and close it then start again later
You can pause it and hibernate the computer. Don’t close any of the download or open windows. Simply pause the download, and then click on hibernate. When you turn the PC back on it will resume straight from where you were.
I am fairly sure there is a plce in opyions on u torrent where you can ask the machine to turn itself off after your torrent is finished.
Also, somewhere on the internet there are computer timers you can download.They will turn off your computer after 10 minutes or three hours, whatever.
Thirdly, of course the torrent will be there the next day.When you turn on the computer the partial file keeps receiving the files as a download from the “swarm” of files availabale for your particular download.
Be sure though that the utorrent starts with the computer.In Windows 7 it is on, even without a small icon in the lower right.In XP there is always a utorrent icon in the right lower corner.
If not, click the utorrent icon on the destop to return utorrent to downloading
The doanload will still be there, but it will stop downloading when you turn the computer off. Utorrent needs to have a constant internet connection in order to continue downloading the torrent. When you turn the computer off, it will not hurt the download and will simply put it in a paused state and will need to be turned back on when you turn the computer back on again. Sometimes it starts re-downloading automatically on its own, but it needs internet connection.
If you shut down your computer and you’re downloading something on utorrent, when you turn your computer back on, utorrent will open and it will continue what you’re downloading.
Sure you can! I do it all the time. Open Utorrent and if the hash is not still in the description line close utorrent and navigate to the folder C: Documents and Settings User-YouApplication DataUtorrent (if XP, but you get the picture, right?) find the torrent icon and just click on it and it will fire up Utorrent and start downloading where it left off. I love Utorrent cause it checks the hashes and will start over just shy of where it left off so it can rebuild a file. Love it! Been using it since it started. Ya u can pause it and resume it next day or you can tell utorrent to shutdown when download completes and just leave your computer on ant it will auto shutdown.
